TATA Harrier 2023
The Harrier has been the preferred product among Indian SUV buyer since it was launched in the year 2019, after that there has been constant updates in the subsequent years like the Dark Editon, Kaziranga Edition, Gold Edition, Jet Edition & Red Dark. This year TATA has given a significant update to the SUV which we can call a half-generation upgrade. Let's find out what are those changes.

Design
The front of the SUV has undergone a comprehensive revamp, featuring Daytime Running Lights (DRL) stretched along the entire bonnet, accompanied by a welcoming animation. The grille is now divided into two distinct parts, setting it apart from the Safari, and adorned with chrome embellishments on both sections. The lower portion of the grille serves as a sizable air vent, housing both the radar and a camera. Departing from the previous large halogen lamps, the Harrier is now equipped with LED headlamps, referred to as 'ice cubes' by TATA, complemented by horizontal fog lamps featuring cornering capabilities. A touch of aerodynamic design is evident in the form of an air curtain integrated into the front bumper.

Exterior

The side profile remains unchanged, except for the bagging on the HARRIE on the driver and passenger doors. The ORVM is not re-engineered for better visibility. The SUV now features redesigned alloys with wheel sizes ranging from 17 inches to 19 inches, depending on the variant you opt for.
The rear of the car has been tweaked compared to the previous design, with reflectors and reversing lamps sculpted into the bumper. The taillamps are now full-length LED with stylish L-shaped brake lights.

Interior
The significant change in the new TATA Harrier lies in its redesigned dashboard layout and the array of features integrated into the car. At first glance, a prominent 12.2-inch Harman infotainment touchscreen system captures attention, positioned prominently on the center console. Beneath the screen, touch-sensitive controls for the air conditioning vents accompany physical buttons for regulating the blower speed. Notably, a wireless charger is discreetly placed beneath the terrain mode selector switch. The Harrier boasts a fresh 4-spoke steering wheel featuring a luminous TATA logo and touch controls/buttons. In a departure from the conventional analog instrument cluster, TATA has introduced a fully digital screen, measuring approximately 10.2 inches, for the first time.

Engine

Mechanically, there are no changes in the powertrain, and the same engine is retained—a 2.0L BS6 Phase 2 compliant turbocharged Diesel engine jointly developed by TATA and Fiat. This engine produces 170PS (167HP) at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1750-2500rpm. The vehicle offers two gearbox options: a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The automatic gearbox is sourced from Hyundai.
