TATA’s Dark Edition Line-up
TATA motors recently unwrapped Dark Editions of its popular line-up of TATA Nexon, Nexon EV, Altroz for the Indian market, on the similar lines of the Dark Edition model of its SUV Harrier which was launched in August 2019, while the Harrier also gets an update in the recent launch. The name suggests the Dark edition model will be a premium version on the offering in the line-up with “#DARK” bagging in the fender to stand out from the standard variants and blacked-out treatment in and out of the car.

Nexon

The all-black TATA Nexon gets Altas Black body colour matched to Charcoal black R16 five-spoke alloys, sonic silver headlight and matte Granite Black cladding, while on the inside company is offering a premium package comprising of leather upholstery along with Tri-arrow perforation on seats and door trims. A “Dark” edition chrome badge on the front fender and matte black “Nexon” lettering at the centre on the tailgate. Both diesel and petrol motors are both in the offering list, while the dark edition Nexon will be available on top of the line specs that are XZ+, XZ+(O) and XZA+, XZA+(O) variants. The price for Nexon XZ+ starts at 10.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) the Dark Edition is pricier by 44,000 for the petrol variant and 45,000 for the diesel variant from the standard XZ+ variant.

Altroz
Cosmo Black is the colour called by TATA for Altroz with dark tint touch for 16-inch four spokes alloy wheels, along with a dark chrome hood highlighting its masculine look. On similar lines, Nexon Altroz is also equipped with leather upholstery along with deep Blue Tri-arrow perforations and #DARK stitching on the headrest, the dash which already has black parts now gets an additional dark touch on the grey chunks. The car will be available only in a fully loaded XZ+ petrol version with two power options. Altroz starts at 8.71 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) or Dark edition is costly by 30,000 from the standard XZ+ variant.

Nexon EV

The EV version of the popular Nexon is painted in Midnight Black shade, the Tri-arrow design on the front bumper is carried over from standard EV versions comprehending its EV character, Charcoal Grey alloy wheels enhance the Dark scheme of the car. The Interior of the EV is based on Piano Black Theme leatherette upholstery and blue highlights. Nexon EV Dark Edition will be available in XZ+ and XZ+ Lux variants Tire presser monitoring system and split seat are add-on features in the list. Nexon EV price starts at 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while Dark version XZ+ is 43,000 costlier than the standard variant.

Harrier

TATA has updated the black version of baby Range Rover Discovery, the Harrier from Altas Black to Oberon Black to count up the dark edition of its latest line-up. Harrier is revised with dark-finished Benecke Kaliko Blackstone leatherette upholstery and amended trims, black headlamp Bezel alongside a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. The dashboard has a Blackstone Matrix design on it. Harrier Dark edition will be available in XT+, XZ+ & XZA+ while the price starts at 18.04 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) which will be 17,000 more than the standard variant.

TATA has added the Tire Puncture repair kit as an add-on accessory in all models of Dark Edition to avoid midway breakdowns due to type puncture. For TATA fans, the company has also launched Dark edition merchandise like T-shirts, jackets etc with #DARK bagging that can be bought from the TATA stores. Booking of Dark edition has already commenced in the TATA showrooms across the country. All and all #DARK edition of TATA cars will be a treat for the eyes when it will be present on Indian roads and will be worth waiting for and how Black colour admirers respond to these models.

International carmaker BMW also launched its limiter edition BMW X7 Dark Shadow Edition limited to 600 quantities worldwide and only 2 will be available in India. Under the hood is V8 Turbocharged producing 523HP with M Sport bagging mounted on 22-inch M V-spoke Matte Jett Black wheels.




Will TATA also launch #DARK Edition of its Safari 2021 Edition, that's the question to be answered in the coming months.
