After a wait of more than two years, Maruti Suzuki India has unveiled facelifted 2021 editions of its popular Swift this month. Things have not changed much in terms of the design character and the car retains its DNA from its previous facelift when its third generation was launched in 2016. With some cosmetic changes and a new engine, the car can still remain the preferred choice of first-time buyers.
What’s new?
Upfront you get to see a bold chrome design element as a highlighting point of the car which separates the mesh grill into two parts, on another glance the car stands out with its dual-tone color scheme introduced for the first time. Under the hood is a new K-series 1.2-litre dual-jet naturally-aspirated K12N Dual VVT BS6 compliant engine producing 90PS power and 113Nm torque borrowed from its sibling Dzire. Apart from that, there are no dominant changes on the vehicle. While a Diesel variant can be expected in the future.
